Gregory And The Hawk – Season Poem

One by one the days fall beside us
Like yellow leaves
We have no conscience
Oh, what we’re becoming…
Month by month the rings on our tree trunks
Like old wise eyes
Grow wider
And winter lends them a dead disguise

วันเวลาค่อยๆโรยราไปทีละวัน ทีละวันอยู่เคียงข้างเรา
เหมือนดั่งใบไม้สีเหลืองที่ร่วงโรย
เราขาดซึ่งความรู้สึกผิดชอบชั่วดี
เรากลายเป็นอะไรไปกันแล้วนะ
เดือนแต่ละเดือนผันผ่านไป วงปีของต้นไม้ของเรา
ก็เหมือนดั่งดวงตา
มันกว้างขึ้นเรื่อยๆ
และฤดูหนาวก็ให้ต้นไม้นั้นยืมการพรางตัวด้วยความตายไป

Now time, like an ocean, knows tide, like a notion
To toss about the house and lose inside the couch
Piles of our thoughts run miles in the dark
Just trying to get home

และตอนนี้ กาลเวลาก็เหมือนดั่งมหาสมุทร ที่รู้จักกระแสคลื่น เหมือนดั่งความคิดขึ้นๆลงๆ
ที่จะขลุกอยู่แต่ในบ้าน และใช้ชีวิตอยู่บนโซฟา
ความคิดของเราที่กองพะเนินมันวิ่งไปในความมืด
พยายามจะกลับบ้าน

Age by age
We rime with our seasons’ rehearsed routines
Still turning and returning

เวลาผ่านเลยไป
เราถูกเคลือบไปด้วยชีวิตประจำวันตามฤดูกาลต่างๆ
ที่ผ่านมาและก็ผ่านไป

Now I’m wide as the ocean
Now I bleed roses
You are just a mark on the map of my past
I am a road
I wind along alone
All day until the coast

และตอนนี้ฉันก็กว้างใหญ่ดั่งท้องมหาสมุทร
ฉันหลั่งเลือดเป็นสีกุหลาบ
และเธอก็เป็นเพียงจุดจุดหนึ่งบนแผนที่ในอดีตของฉัน
ฉันเป็นถนน
ฉันเดินทางไปตามลำพัง
ตลอดเวลาจนกว่าจะถึงชายฝั่ง
