I reminice on the stress I caused, it was hell
Huggin on my mama from a jail cell
And who’d think in elementary?

And even as a crack fiend, mama

I finally understand
for a woman it ain’t easy tryin to raise a man

ตอนที่ฉันยังเด็กฉันกับแม่ฉันก็ทะเลาะกะเสมอๆ
อายุ 17 โดนไล่มาอยู่บนถนน
ถึงแม้ในเวลานั้น ฉันไม่เคยคิดจะไปพบหน้าแม่อีกเลย
แต่ก็ไม่มีผู้หญิงคนไหนที่จะมาแทนที่แม่ฉันได้
โดนไล่ออกจากโรงเรียน และก็กลัวเกินกว่าจะกลับบ้าน ฉันโง่จริงๆ
อยู่กับแกงค์อันธพาลแหกกฏมันทุกกฏ
ฉันเช็ดน้ำตากับน้องสาวของฉัน
เวลาผ่านไปหลายปี เรายากจนกว่าเด็กคนอื่นๆ
ถึงแม้เราจะมีพ่อคนพ่อกัน แต่ก็ยังมีเรื่องดราม่าเกิดขึ้นเหมือนกัน
เมื่ออะไรผิดพลาด เราก็โทษแต่แม่
ฉันนึกถึงตอนที่ฉันทำให้แม่เครียดแค่ไหน มันเหมือนนรกสำหรับฉันเลย
กอดแม่จากลูกกรงขัง
ใครจะไปคิดล่ะว่าจากโรงเรียนประถม
จะเปลี่ยนไปอยู่ในสถานดัดสันดารได้
และวิ่งหนีจากตำรวจ แบบนั้นแหละ
แล้วแม่ก็ช่วยฉันไว้ ร้องด้วยความดีใจอยู่ข้างฉัน
ถึงแม้จะเป็นคนติดยา
แต่แม่ก็เป็นคนฉลาดเสมอ
ในที่สุดฉันก็เข้าใจ
สำหรับผู้หญิงน่ะ มันไม่ง่ายเลยที่จะเลี้ยงดูคนคนนึงให้โตขึ้นมา
และเธอก็ทำมาได้เสมอ
แม่หม้ายผู้ยากจนใช้ชีวิตด้วยสังคมสงเคราะห์ บอกทีว่าแม่ทำได้ยังไง
ไม่มีทางที่ผมจะตอบแทนบุญคุณได้เลย

แม่ก็ยังพยายามจะเลี้ยงเด็กสองคนขึ้นมาด้วยตัวเองจนได้
ไม่มีทางที่ผมจะตอบแทนบุญคุณได้เลย

แม่ไม่เคยเก็บซ่อนความลับไว้ มองความเป็นจริงเสมอ
และผมขอบคุณที่แม่เลี้ยงผมมาจนโต
และความรักอันท่วมท้นที่มอบให้ผม
